Christmas I-sing performance.

It was awesome getting up at the I-sing Christmas performance to sing a waiata while my kapa haka group did the ti Rakau sticks to the beat. I enjoyed watching my friends sing their songs too. 

                                                 

Playing cricket

I joined sports and movement for a fun game of cricket at Anzac park. I learnt how to bowl, bat and field. It was a lovely afternoon in the sun with friends. 

 

Circability

I loved my morning at circability. Watching talented performers do their thing was wicked. When I needed a bit of space, I laid down to do some colouring. 

 

Belvedere Reserve

I really enjoyed my outing to Belvedere reserve, the sun was shining the ducks and eels were hungry, I read magazines and played some cards. We really made the most of our morning, it was choice.

Pukehinahina Pa

Once again, I chose to join sports and movement, I did a big loop walk of gate pa, walked through pukehinahina pa and read a bit of the history of the pa site. 

lemon cupcakes

My friend Paul and I baked yummy, (slightly salty) lemon cupcakes. I helped with the measuring of ingredients, beating the mixture, pouring the mixture into the tin and most importantly, eating the cup cakes. They were delicious!

Basketball

I played basketball today. We started with some ball drills, chest passes, bounce passes, dribbling the ball around the defender and then shooting into the hoop. I had so much fun in the sun with my friends. 

Tennis

I chose to join the sports and movement group and played a fun game of tennis. We did lots of hand eye                        co ordination, balancing drills and lots of whacking the ball! It was so much fun.                                                             I feel like I'll be joining in that group more often. 

Lunch @ citz

I really enjoyed my outing to the Citz club with my friends. I had mini hotdogs and fries. I loved spending time with my friends while eating a yummy lunch.

Being a great volunteer

 I’ve been such a great helper this week. Wiping down tables, helping with the dishes, volunteering at the library and spca op shop. I’ve been a busy gal. 

Tenpin bowling

 Guess what? I tried something new today! 

I went tenpin bowling for the first time and finally understand what all the fuss is about. I had so much fun playing (sometimes competing, ssshhh) against my friends. I even got a strike! I denifinetly left with a big smile on my dial. 

16th Ave cafe

 I had a special outing to the 16th Ave Cafe with a couple of friends today. I chose a yummy steak and cheese pie with a Schweppes to wash it down. What a yummy treat!

Purple disco

  I danced the day away with all of my friends on Friday. We had a purple disco and the room was decorated with pretty purple decorations. I wore a pretty dress that had little purple flowers on it. We enjoyed a yummy gourmet sandwich lunch. It was a great day!

Kite Flying

I chose to join sports and movement this week and I'm so glad I did. We walked the track at Yatton park, I loved guiding my mate Modz around the track although I may have been walking a little too fast for him, oops! Finished it off with some kite flying, I gave it a whirl and absolutely loved it!

 

Citz lunch

I went to the citz club and had lunch with my connect 20 friends. I ordered the citz burger, it was huge and I enjoyed every little bit of it. The hot chips were also yummy.

 

Putiputi raranga

In celebration of Te Wiki o te Reo Maori, my friends and I did some raranga (weaving), creating putiputi (flowers) out of harakeke (flax). As a roopu (group) we have managed to make a ataahua (beautiful) bouquet. I can't wait to dye them!

 

Olympic crafts

We have our Olympic Day coming up soon, so today I painted what will be our Olympic photo frame. 

I did a great job painting, taking my time so I wouldn't paint the table. I can't wait until it is finished.

 

Baked bean cups

 I was back in the kitchen again! On the menu, baked bean cups. We put bread into each muffin tin, filled them up with baked beans and sprinkled them with cheese. Lets add ''chef''' to my CV ha ha.

Blaze Gym

I have been working hard at the gym lately, noticing improvements in my form and increasing the weight on the machines have been very exciting. Yay to me working on my hauora and wellbeing!

 

Aeroplane watching

I went to the Tauranga Airport to watch planes take off and land. It was such a cool experience, it's not something I get to see often so I really loved it. The bonus was seeing Tiki Taane board a small plane, he even waved at us!

Sonic Cinema

I liked watching the movie School of Rock at the Sonic Cinema, i liked the music. I also enjoyed eating the popcorn.

Citizens Club

I enjoyed a lovely Cheeseburger with a side of fries at the Citizens club surrounded by friends, then I washed it all down with a nice cold coke.

 

Creative Kitchen - Beef Stew

 Creative Kitchen

On todays menu we have a beef stew, with added potato and carrots. This meal has been a goal of mine to cook, I was so happy to get into the kitchen and get stuck into the mahi. I popped on my apron, followed the recipe step by step, cutting up the onion, adding it into the pot with the other ingredients I mixed it all up until the aroma filled the room. The kai was so yummy.

Acts of service

I helped volunteer at the SPCA Op shop on 15th avenue. We picked up any clothes that had fallen off the hangers, took out any empty coat hangers and put them in a box to be reused. We also moved the swimwear clothing into the gym clothing area. 

Deadpool & Wolverine

 Today I watched an action packed movie, Deadpool & Wolverine at Event Cinema in the lakes. As it has just been released, I enjoyed watching it in the Vmax cinema which means, bigger screen and comfier chairs. The movie was choice, having lots of action and comedy scenes. What an awesome outing!

Blaze gym

My hauora is really important to me and to help improve my health and well-being I chose to go to blaze gym on Friday. I started off with some light cardio, getting my heart rate up and then moved on to the weights. I really look forward to moving my body more often.
